fitness clubAs we become more and more aware of the importance of our health and physical fitness, the popularity of fitness clubs has exploded over the last twenty years. These clubs range from small local gyms to international chains run by large companies. There is no doubt that health and fitness is big business and ever increasing in popularity. Many fitness clubs offer a pool, a full gym and exercise classes tailored to the different needs of the members.

Joining a fitness club means paying a membership fee for unlimited usage of their facilities. Some clubs allow a monthly fee to be paid however many clubs now insist on a contract agreement of a year when you join. The reason for this no doubt is for the many people who join a gym with the intention of getting fit and then let there enthusiasm waiver and do not return.

For others who join a gym they find that the working out in close proximity to others can be unpleasant and would much prefer the privacy of a home gym. Many people do not want to have to pay for the extra facilities that they will not use such as the aerobics classes and steam rooms, in these cases many people do decide to convert a room in their own homes into a home gym.
